AcidSolitaire for Windows 1.5.1

When it comes to spending free time, different people like to do different things. Some people for example like to get an entire series of “The IT Crowd”, sit back on the couch with some popcorn and a cold beverage and enjoy the antics of Richard Ayoade, Chris O'Dowd and Katherine Parkinson. Other people like to get dressed, put their dog on the leash, and go for a walk in the park.

There are some people though who like to play a nice computer game – like Solitaire. These are the type of people who will appreciate the Red Mercury-developed game AcidSolitaire for Windows (there’s also AcidSolitaire for Mac and AcidSolitaire for the iPhone).

There is much to like about this game. The first thing you are going to like is that the game installs in no time at all. Tested the game on a pretty lousy XP-powered PC and it installed in a Flash – I could not believe my eyes. Once the game is up and running, you will be presented with lots of tips and hints on how to play the game and how the game works. Personally I liked all the helpful tips and hints. If you don’t, uncheck the “Show at startup box.”

The game’s graphics are rather nice and they are accompanied by some nice sound effects. You can customize the way the game looks by selecting different card sets and by selecting a custom background.

The great thing about AcidSolitaire is that all games are winnable. This is not to say that you will win all games, it just means that if you pay attention you can win all the games. To help you out the game offers unlimited undo and redo. When you feel like you’re tired and want to take a break, close AcidSolitaire safe in the knowledge that when you fire it back up and pick up again from where you left off.
